Each year the Taos Auto Enthusiasts club puts on a Hot Rods, Customs, Classics Car Show to raise money to benefit Youth Scholarships & Youth Development This is a non competitive eventor a scholarship that will be presented to a student from Taos High School. The Village of Taos Ski Valley (TSV) was incorporated as a village in 1996 as New Mexico's 100th municipality. While the last official census put TSV human population at 56 inhabitants there a much larger population of deer, elk, bear, and bighorn sheep. At a base elevation of 9,200 feet, the Village of Taos Ski Valley is surrounded by green forests and high mountains. Beginning in 1957, SANE pressed for an end to atmospheric testing of nuclear weapons. During the 1980's, SANE/FREEZE mobilized millions of people against the nuclear arms race and the threat of nuclear war. The organization changed its name to Peace Action in 1993. Peace Action New Mexico was formed in July 1998. The Director and many Board members are seasoned activists and organizers.
