Sagebrush Inn has gotten together with Quality Inn and Comforts Suites on one site, here. In the 1920's and 30's the elite of New York and the eastern sea coast often traveled west to Arizona for the winter. On their long journey they would stop at Taos and Sante Fe for respite and relaxation. The Sagebrush Inn was built to accommodate those adventurous travelers. The unique mix of vaqueros, senoritas, Native Americans, and local artists guaranteed the Sagebrush Inn guest a doorway into the Southwest's past. Today, the same mix of people still visit the Sagebrush Inn. The original adobe structure, now the Cantina and lobby, still houses an impressive collection of Indian rugs and artifacts, New Mexico paintings and original R.C. Gorman works. The recent additions to the property include an 18,000 square foot conference center designed in the style of the original graceful adobe architecture that enhances the charm of the Sagebrush Inn. Of the 100 rooms and suites located at the Inn, over 68 have their own wood burning fireplace. All rooms have hand made furniture from Mexico, local art, cable TV, air conditioning, telephone, in room coffeemakers and hand hewn vigas. Hotel guests receive a complimentary made to order breakfast in the Sagebrush Dining room-served from 6:30am-11:00am each day. Non smoking rooms are available, and pets are welcome in pet designated rooms.<br/>

Each morning a different hot entrée enhances the basic buffet of fresh fruit, coffee, tea, chai, juices, cereals, and breads for toast. With advance notice, special dietary requirements can be met. The Lodge’s amenities include an open air hot tub (always open) and New Mexico’s only chili-pepper shaped swimming pool (open from June through September), a garden setting for wedding or outdoor events, meeting space for groups of 10 to 100, a library specializing in southwestern mysteries and complete concierge service.

I worked for them when I lived in NM. The etchings are from small copper plates, and the images are wonderful southwestern moments. The landscape and architecture that is captured, truly a gift from the past.

Great Site! This site has been around for a while. It moved July '08 from a small to a large ISP. The site will undergo a face lift as well as an upgrade to a new engine to 'run' the back end of it.

Thanks for including my site, although we are technically south of Taos by 50+ miles in Sapello NM
