“Khecariâ€: moving in the void, dancing in the abyss; khecari is the act of creation. From chaos, form arises, from darkness, light. We are meaning-making creatures, inescapably and unconsciously creating in every moment of our lives. When we dive into the abyss by choice, enter consciously the maze of the minotaur, we turn passion into fuel for living and become artists. Khecari Dance Theatre probes the liminal realms of paradox: union dissolves to isolation, anguish burns to rapture; for paradox holds as its treasure transformation. Khecari explores our relationship to the Earth, to each other. The pull of gravity is the pull of love. We resist, we release; we will and surrender. This is the dance of our lives and the dance on stage. Through shimmering, shifting presence, through movement fluid as water, still as earth, explosive as fire, we present as an offering a sublime vision of possibilities. Khecari Dance Theater is dedicated foremost to offering our community passionate, professional dance. Khecari Dance Theatre was founded in January 2002 by artistic director Jonathan Meyer. “Jonathan Meyer’s choreography vibrates with a lucid, muscular physicality. Exploring a vulnerable range of motion balanced at the brink of danger, this sexy androgine has a gift for passionate, heart-centered movement that challenges our notion of conventional dance vocabulary.†- Scott Lundius, Director, Taos Dance.

Kim and the Caballeros is Kim Treiber's country music band comprised of Chipper Thompson, Paul Reid, Leonard Kasza, and Eric Record. Kim Treiber first playing bass in an 80s rock band, “The Bohiemsâ€, later becoming a folkie, still leaning in the rock genre, but mostly writing tortured love songs and political/social stuff in the band “Burning Joan.†For giggles, in 2003 Kim Treiber recorded a bastardized version of “Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain†for my mom’s birthday, and it all took off from there. She realized her roots had caught up to her and she liked it. She recorded the CD Blue Hearted Girl at Howlin’ Dog Studios in Alamosa, Co. and in Nashville. Kim Treiber lives in Taos, New Mexico with my children; work with homeless youth at the DreamTree Project, and rides her horse in the mountains. Real nice web site too.
