Caledonia Guitars offers three basic steel-string models, with nearly infinite variations. Body shape, cutaway style, back & side wood, soundboard wood, binding, bracing, decorative inlay or carving, scale length, nut width, neck profile and sound reinforcement are only some of the options available to the player. Caledonia works with you to find the ideal combination of options to meet your needs. Caledonia Guitars offers four basic classical and two flamenco models, with (again) nearly limitless possibilities for customization. In addition to the options listed for steel string guitars, our custom trademarked bracing patterns and hand-made rosettes are also available. Caledonia Guitars builds with only the finest-grade solid wood, respecting endangered or threatened exotic species. They assemble each guitar with painstaking hand tool work and hide glue. Caledonia Guitars signature finish is a beautiful and durable hand-applied French polish, which we believe imparts the best combination of tonal quality, dazzling beauty, durability and flawless ease of repair.

Chipper Thompson's cool web site. Chipper is one of the really good musicians from Taos. Besides playing with other people, Chipper's got four albums available. Chipper’s ongoing career has led him down many musical paths, including performing with and co-producing two CDs for the folk-rock band Burning Joan (named after one of Chipper’s songs, Burning Joan Again), pushing the envelope of the bouzouki’s frontiers with noted instrumentalist Roger Landes, ripping through old-time American and Scots-Irish ballads with Mason Brown, blasting out folk-goth-n-roll with the Taos rock band Bone Orchard, pounding Middle-Eastern hand drums with the band Radio Free Bassanda, and twanging his way through honky-tonk standards with the country-western group Kim And The Caballeros. As if his schedule wasn’t full enough, Chipper still concentrates on his songwriting, recording, and performing with his own eminently-flexible group, The Feast.

At the north end of the greater Taos-San Luis Valley lies the magical little town of Crestone. The folks in Crestone have an annual music festival. 2006 headliner is John Mayall. Three days, two stages, and one helluva good time, CrestFest is Colorado’s only premier outdoor music festival dedicated to bringing you a spectacular array of multicultural, multigenre performances. Now in its eighth year, CrestFest showcases local, regional, national, and international artists that run the musical gamut—from rock to reggae, jazz to Japanese folk, Celtic to classical, salsa to Zimbabwean. In years past we’ve not only brought bluegrass, blues, rock, folk, R&B, and country music to the scenic San Luis Valley, but also Middle Eastern, Mariachi, Afro pop, Taiko, and choral and acapella acts.

Cullen Winter, a veteran of the Denver and New Mexico Blues scenes, is well traveled, having performed at the Kingston Mines, Chicago; Eli's Mile High, Oakland; The Maple Leaf, New Orleans; etc., sharing the stage with greats such as Pinetop Perkins, Marcia Ball, Sam Good, Asleep at the Wheel, R.L. Burnside and many others.
