This is a beautiful site from KronosWorks..., and really beautiful clocks, too. At his mountain studio surrounded by the natural beauty of Taos, New Mexico, artist Bob Rickard enjoys challenging the immutable properties of metal. He indulges his love of geometry, movement and color as he strives to stretch the use of industrial tools beyond what they were designed to accomplish. His aesthetic vision is also influenced by the aspects of nature that surround his studio, which gives his work a sense of quiet beauty and calmness. Rickard uses a hand held plasma cutter to carve his designs into aluminum. He then coats the aluminum with other metals, typically copper, bronze and iron. Each of these metals reacts differently to the chemical patinas and dye oxides with which he finishes his pieces. The synergy
of these techniques brings forth work that is striking in its complexity and beauty.

I worked for them when I lived in NM. The etchings are from small copper plates, and the images are wonderful southwestern moments. The landscape and architecture that is captured, truly a gift from the past.

Great Site! This site has been around for a while. It moved July '08 from a small to a large ISP. The site will undergo a face lift as well as an upgrade to a new engine to 'run' the back end of it.

Thanks for including my site, although we are technically south of Taos by 50+ miles in Sapello NM
