Welcome to the Hotel La Fonda de Taos. This charming, historic hotel is located directly on the historic Taos Plaza. The plaza itself dates back approximately 400 years. The phrase La Fonda is an old Hispanic term meaning "The Inn" of Taos. While the hotel is almost completely renovated, it still boasts its character of the earlier years. Still present in the lobby are main artifacts such as the "Suits of Lights", Spanish and Mexican memorabilia dating back to the early 1900's. Also featured are rare Flamenco dolls and bronze figures of European descent. One of the hotels most famous attributes is the incredible, one of a kind collection of art by D. H. Lawrence, the well known British author. This hotel has played host to many American and European celebrities for over sixty years. Such celebrities include Dennis Weaver, Dennis Hopper, Judy Garland,Tennessee Williams, Robert DeNiro, Peter Fonda, Julia Roberts, Rock Hudson and many others. You'll find unrivaled peace and serenity at the St. James Hotel in Cimarron, New Mexico. But it hasn't always been that quiet. A community chock full of frontier history, Cimarron and its vintage Hotel are indelibly marked by the turbulent days of westward expansion in northeast New Mexico. As a vital outpost of The Old Santa Fe Trail, Cimarron and the St. James are linked to a veritable Who's Who of the early land grant settlers, ranchers and desperados (mug shots available upon request). The cast of characters included such notables as settlers Lucien Maxwell and Carlos Beaubien, Buffalo Bill Cody and his cohort, Annie Oakley, Kit Carson, Frank and Jesse James, Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid and Blackjack Ketchum. The notorious gunman, Clay Allison, allegedly danced naked on the bar,* once part of the present dining room which still has bullet holes in its pressed tin ceiling. It was Henri Lambert, personal chef to President Abraham Lincoln, who in 1872 established the Saloon; by 1880 it had evolved into the St. James Hotel. For those inclined to the paranormal, the Hotel has a long history, even right up to the present, of reported ghosts and supernatural happenings. In spite of an occasional friendly visitation, the list grows longer every day of happy, relaxed and rested folks who will testify to the charm and hospitality of this way station in the Rockies.

Deluxe Cabin These are duplex cabins with two units sharing a large porch with parking right in front. Each unit has one queen bed and a full size futon, a large dressing room, refrigerator & coffee maker. Number of Units Available: Six. Sportsmen's Cabin Enjoy the lake view. These have a queen size bed in the bedroom and a full-size futon in the living room. They have a complete kitchen including full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range and microwave oven. They each have a front porch facing Eagle Nest Lake. Number of Units Available: Six. Historic Residence New for Groups - Recently opened to the public is the Laguna Vista Lodge Historic Residence. It has two small bedrooms; the master bedroom has a TV/VCR and both rooms have queen-size beds and walk-in closets. One of the closets was used to store blocks of ice cut out of Eagle Nest Lake. The living room has two full-size futons, 27” TV with a DVD/VCR player. There is one full bath and two half baths. There is a 1,200 square foot conference center and game room with a bumper pool table, ping-pong table, and other games with seating for 48 plus. The large kitchen has dining room tables plus pantry, laundry room, iron and ironing board, washer and dryer. Amenities include TV, large refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, flatware, glassware, cutlery, utensils, dinnerware, cookware, kitchen linens and oodles of cabinets. Parking by entrance. Sleeps 8 plus. Daily trash and towel service provided. Laguna Vista Lodge's grassed courtyard with commercial six foot gas grill and 50’ stage is adjacent to the Historic Residence and is available as well. Number of Units Available: One. The Lazy Miner Lodge is located on Main Street in beautiful Red River, New Mexico. We offer some of the finest units in Red River at very affordable rates. The Lazy Miner has direct access to the river, a large recreational area with picnic facilities, volleyball, horseshoes and playground, plus a large; glass enclosed hot tub for your relaxation. All rooms receive daily maid service and, of course, linens are furnished and kitchen units are fully equipped. Each room has telephone and color cable TV with HBO, and most rooms have a fireplace. For those of you who need their morning coffee, each room also comes with a coffeepot. The Lazy Miner Lodge can accommodate groups of all sizes. Our five-bedroom apartment can serve as the hub of your activities, and with its two complete kitchens, no meal is too difficult to prepare. We will also be happy to offer a package designed to fit your needs and budget. The Lazy Miner Lodge is Red River's only fully recycling lodge. Each room contains a recycling bin labeled with the different items, which may be recycled. Please help us to protect our environment by separating your recyclable items during your stay.
