Framing

Fine art framing, handcarved 23K gold leaf museum quality frames are our trademark. Custom mouldings and finishes, frame restoration and repair. Taos Gilders has been creating unique frames since 1988 and continues to offer the artist or connoisseur individual consultation to meet the needs your artwork deserves. Employing the same fine craftsmanship and Old World techniques each frame is individually milled, carved and then gilded. Resulting in nothing less than a quality frame. Once spoilt by the gentle glow of 22 karat gold, hand burnished to perfection, or the soft luster of aged patina, matched only by that found on a renaissance frame, you have stepped into our world of framing. Metal Leaf Frames - Also called composition lead. It is an alternative application involving oil gilding. It is available in several colors and can be applied to almost any profile Taos Gilders creates. The end result is a beautiful timeless frame. A Complete Frame Shop. In addition to Taos Gilders hand crafted frames, they offer commercial mouldings, liners, lamination, shrink wrap, silks, linens, matting and much more.

I worked for them when I lived in NM. The etchings are from small copper plates, and the images are wonderful southwestern moments. The landscape and architecture that is captured, truly a gift from the past.

Great Site! This site has been around for a while. It moved July '08 from a small to a large ISP. The site will undergo a face lift as well as an upgrade to a new engine to 'run' the back end of it.
