In 1927 renowned Russian artist Nicolai Fechin began building his new home here in Taos, New Mexico. Today the home stands as a landmark symbolizing the colorful history of art in America and the role of Taos as an artist's "mecca." The home is on the National Register of Historic Places and its distinctive design and artistic details were the inspiration for the Fechin Inn, Taos' most elegant hotel. The 84-room Fechin Inn is located just two blocks from the historic Taos Plaza, on six secluded acres next to Kit Carson Park. Smooth adobe walls and open courtyards accented with fine hand-carved doors and furnishings reflect the Fechin style.

I worked for them when I lived in NM. The etchings are from small copper plates, and the images are wonderful southwestern moments. The landscape and architecture that is captured, truly a gift from the past.

Great Site! This site has been around for a while. It moved July '08 from a small to a large ISP. The site will undergo a face lift as well as an upgrade to a new engine to 'run' the back end of it.
