Rift Gallery represents regional and Japanese artists, and the Rift Gallery facility hosts annual workshops in stonecarving. Named for the dramatic Rio Grande rift valley, Rift Gallery is located in Rinconada, New Mexico.
Rift Gallery is on the main road joining Santa Fe and Taos, adjacent to Southwest Stoneworks. Gallery owner, Mark Saxe, is a stone sculptor, and speaking of his art says, "My work expresses my love, commitment, and relationship with stone. The forms I create are the result of experience, contemplation, intuition, and chance. The methods and techniques I use reflect the forces in nature." Mark is also represented in Santa Fe by LewAllen Contemporary in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Partner Betsy Williams is a ceramist trained in Japan from 1994 to 1999, and she works with sculptural and functional forms.

I worked for them when I lived in NM. The etchings are from small copper plates, and the images are wonderful southwestern moments. The landscape and architecture that is captured, truly a gift from the past.

Great Site! This site has been around for a while. It moved July '08 from a small to a large ISP. The site will undergo a face lift as well as an upgrade to a new engine to 'run' the back end of it.

Thanks for including my site, although we are technically south of Taos by 50+ miles in Sapello NM
